The feedback is something I have never really figured out on the classifieds. I have been asked by customers also but have not gotten any method figured out, even though John did try to walk me through it.

I've got dibs on the first Barber-Salon-Straight-Edge-Cut-Throat-Steel-Razor-Knife-Shaving-Pocket-Beard that shows up.
Tje functionality of the classifieds can be tuned. However first i want to finish the vendor rules. One thing at a time
I think its a good change. As others have said the classified was stagnant. I am not sure of the rules but maybe include a must accept returns policy. I think most members here can tell junk from something decent. I think it will be good for the community.
More activity will be great in the classifieds and I am sure everybody will keep an eye out for trouble. The buyers can do the research on sellers by reading posts and looking at restore/vendor threads. I do see some sort of rules for dispute resolutions in the future but that could be simple.
Seller make buyer happy or accepts return. If not, no more sales. Looks like more work for Mods but hey, if they are willing, who am I to complain :<0)
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't understand the logic in which the attempt to reduce stagnation in the classifieds will be accomplished by allowing fringe members to sell stuff.
I started a thread a few months ago about the fact that there were something like 10 great low priced razors for sale in the Classifieds that would be ideal for beginners. I think only one of them sold within the next week. That gave me the impression that there was a shortage of buyers at least as much as a shortage of sellers.
I don't mean any of my comments as a criticism and I have no alternative solutions to offer. I would like to see the Classifieds used more, particularly for beginners.
Maybe we could re-name it Beaten Puppy?
Flogged Cat?
Razor Classifieds Matter :beer2:
Well, I'm not sure we are talking fringe members necessarily, though I guess there could be some of that. What's gone is the "ongoing participation" rule (min of 6 posts per x weeks or whatever) and as far as I can tell a small change in the overall min post/ min time rule.
In other words, it's essentially gone back to how it was a few years ago. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.
Moderators will still monitor the ads. Members can still report things they think are dodgy. And, if it does just become a spammer's paradise in there I am sure the mod team will be on top of it.
It's still just the classifieds. Personal items for sale or trade, nothing vendory about it. No one's allowed to set up a shop front in there for ongoing sales, for example. Except of course for member services like honing or restoration.
Anyway, that's how I see it.
James.
