In theory that sounds good. For myself I see no need to communicate across many different platforms to accomplish virtually the same thing in a different manner. I personally have no need of face book or the appropriately named Twitter.

    Point well taken.

In your case I would agree with you.

Quite the opposite. There are lots of "lost"souls" on FB that are being fed tons of misinformation by the "experts", so more helpful advise and redirection to the forum are great for us. A lot of folks over there are oblivious about the existence of SRP.com . There is also tons of haters, mainly the GD selling clique, that spreads lots of hate against us. We need all the help we can get.

I second what maniaman says. We need to grow the community in an ethical and straight forward manner. The glut of wanna be experts in social media has chased some new people off with bad information.

Have they never heard of googling anything? A simple "straight razor forums" search brings up SRP among other hits.

The facebook group could surly be a good way to bring people to the site & forum. Being the members here are friendly and the advice is solid.

I'd like to think that as well, but in practice I don't see that happening. There is only so much time in the day, and only so much time a person can spend on forums and social media. Before FB there was more action here. Some of the leading members that used to post here almost never do anymore, but seem to be on FB all of their waking hours.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I don't understand how the Facebook page could harm this forum. 90 or more percent of the Facebook posts are SOTD. Their isn't any detailed content there. I spend much more time on the forum than Facebook and learn a lot here.

Yeah that's the scurge of FB, people get on there and don't go anywhere else with their time.

I just joined the SRP Facebook group. Is there more to it than SOTD pics? I know on my smart phone certain sites look different than the PC format and I can miss content or features.
