Smooth running!
I would just like to comment that the forum is running as smoothly as it ever has.
A fine resource.

Thanked: 4826This forum has a good many tutorials on shaving and restoration and honing. As well as many other aspects of wet shaving. I cannot imagine what a loss it would be if we lost it as a source for information. We have had many great historians here over time that have and continue to enrich us with that information. As far as I am concerned this site has been supported by and contributed to by so many people I would be hard pressed to mention half of them by name.

If this site were to get shut down it would be a terrible lose! I personally consider this site the 'Holy Grail' of straight razor shaving. I could spend the next 9 years giving back and still not equal what I have received in help from this site the past 9 years.

Thanked: 292I used a link that opened StraightRazorPlace directly to the new forum posts, so I never looked at the main page. Thus, I was not aware of the name change to StraightRazorPalace. When the old site went offline, I thought the site was gone for good. I was quite disappointed. Finally, a friend told me about the new domain name.
One thing I did not like about the old site in its final weeks was that there were a lot of advertising videos that were very disruptive to my use of the forum. Although the latest site still contains ads, they are static pictures and texts. I have not yet been annoyed by videos. The only videos currently are those members have embedded in threads. I know that ads help cover the cost of hosting the web site, but I hope video ads are banned forever.
Thanks to the owners and moderators for maintaining a great, useful forum, no matter what the name.

Thanked: 37An excellent resource indeed. It is quite a shame that going back to previous posts via a Google search, cannot be done, or if it can, perhaps someone can enlighten me how it is done. Too bad about the name change. If someone is squatting on the domain name because it inadvertently lapsed, shame on them and may they have itchy hemorrhoids for life

Thanked: 37Thanks. I did that and came up with a 'page not found' response. Just tried it again and it came up.
