If you are serious about using a browser that even enters the arena of protecting your privacy - you're looking at using a TOR browser with a VPN at the least....and that just gets you in the door as far as security and privacy is concerned...let alone what's tracks are left on your personal devices etc.....

By lines of code, Tor Browser is mostly Firefox -- there are some modifications and some additions, but around 95% of the code in Tor Browser comes from Firefox. [Source]

Thanked: 4206I do all my stuff through an iPad or iphone now. And I use a VPN. Only pc in the house is connected to my cnc router.
Banking through the respective institutions apps and also (knock on wood) have had no online financial attacks to date.
I think for browsing the iPad uses safari. When I did use a laptop I found Firefox very efficient and a good alternative to iexplorer .

Yes, been awhile since I did any reading on that aspect....think the last time I paid any attention to it was trying to fool the US and UK Netflix platforms to let me watch content that we couldn't get access to...TOR browser on my machine is at least 2 or 3 years out of date I think as this point.
You mentioned you had a link with some info, would love to see it if you don't mind posting.

Yes it's all about common sense, run a VPN make sure all your spyware and updates are always on, I've been online since 1999 almost 20 years thousands of transactions, I make most of my purchases using PayPal, but If I know and trust you I have no problem making a bank transfer, in all those years I can honestly say I've not once had a single problem and I feel extremely safe online.

Thanked: 292Browers are routinely upgraded to improve performance. Hackers are routinely trying to infiltrate those browsers. Nothing every stays the same.
According to the data you referenced, it looks like Firefox had only a single vulnerability during 2017. So at least at the current time, Firefox seems to be performing quite well. However, who knows what tomorrow will bring.
I use both Firefox and Google Chrome browser interchangeably. Many times I have both running at the same time. I have not used Internet Explorer since I retired. I have never used Microsoft Edge, although I have several computers running Windows 10.
