Thanked: 55Disturbing trend...
I see a disturbing trend and that is to privately chase new members away either by ganging up on members by other members or by private message bullying.
It's great that there is a core group of long time members who know each other but it's not so great when they back each other up when one engages in poor behavior towards another.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but I don't read all that much. Regardless, I'd suggest reporting the relevant posts and/or PM's so mods can have all the information.

Thanked: 3224I believe I know what you are talking about but believe you have it bass ackwards as to who the supposed initial victim of bad behavior was.

Thanked: 55It's not just one person and one incidence. There are several who are usually involved in the bad behavior however.

Thanked: 13245I am going to try ONCE
@gcbryan
You are a minimalist, there are many others like you on this forum, they however tend to come here gain the knowledge they need to shave and then we don't hear from them all that often until they need help from us Hobbyists
Most of the people that post often on here are Hobbyists, and are way farther down the rabbit hole than simply shaving
Anyone of us can use a Norton 4/8 and 2 razors with a strop and shave for the rest of our lives with little else
That however bores us so we push the limits
Now there is nothing wrong with being a minimalist but you seems to have this notion that we all need to agree with your ideas
It isn't that you are "Wrong" it is that you are unwilling to accept that there are levels above where you have reached
I have never seen what you claim here, I have only seen you get bent sideways with members that try and explain there is a Hobby here too..
PS: As a Senior Mod I see all the posts, yes even the ones that get deleted
There is nothing wrong with making your Minimalist suggestions, but there is a problem with you not liking that most don't agree with you, and your incessant attacks against them
That is me being honest and direct, that is all I can be"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Thanked: 55That's an interesting point of view but I'm not referring to me (I'm not a new member) and I have never had any issue with someone not being convinced by me or with any other point of view.
I'm not intolerant nor am I a hothead.
Your characterization that I get "bent sideway" may indicate that you aren't especially impartial, senior moderator or not.

Thanked: 55Why don't you share the nature of the reports? You are right, you are obviously not being impartial. That might be part of the problem here. Why are you not upset with the people filing those reports?
A new guy asked if honing was very difficult. I said that there is a learning curve but that it's not hard. Is that a valid opinion to express?
I was accused by some of "bragging" because I said that? One member said I probably could not even hone and that his 6 month old granddaughter could hone better than I? As I recall, several members "liked" that post.
I guess you didn't notice this? These, apparently, are the same people reporting me. If there was anything to this, why wasn't I contacted?
Why are you attacking me when I started a thread to alert others that a bad trend is developing here? Why so defensive?
There was a recent new member here who left after he received a PM from another member telling him that all the senior members and mentors had put him on an ignore list. He was told that no one would listen to him anymore and that only new members would listen to him and that soon they would not listen either.
He was warned to change or leave basically. He didn't need the stress in his life and left.
Do you still insist that there is no problem? Are you OK with bullying?
I bring up a problem, in the correct forum, and your response is to have a problem with me. Nice.Last edited by gcbryan; 05-21-2018 at 02:47 AM.

Thanked: 13245So this thread was actually as I said about YOU and your feelings not any alleged Trend
I would suggest you take a long hard look in the mirror after you stop digging"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Thanked: 55No, this thread was about the member who recently left after I tried to get him to stay and after he shared his PM bullying with me.
You haven't addressed any issues raised and have only attacked the messenger while producing no facts of your own. Again, why so defensive? Does, Vendor, Senor Moderator mean attack dog for the forum?
