With certain "Get Off My Lawn!" types out of the picture, this is also a much friendlier environment and I think you will like it here more than before. I (and a couple others) were actually banned from the old forum due to doctrinal issues that I won't go into. Now I am quite well accepted here and feel a lot more welcome.

Perhaps you may inform us as to who the implied 'get off my lawn' types are which you are referring to?
Not much of a welcome back to this member as you talk badly of those who may be absent.
All missing members are certainly and happily accepted back as they post. Such as yourself.
With your post count (present), This is purely bad form. Using this platform such as you are.
At your service, of course

Founder moved on long before the supposedly founder moved on. That’s ancient history

I am glad there are number of different forums, each with their own values and strengths.
Ours is about community and it depends on all of us.
I haven't been here from the beginning, but I've talked to many who have and I have dug out lot of the formational history which over time has been rewritten and misrepresented by some people, just like they have attempted to do with more recent history - largely unsuccessfully because everyone here could see with their own eyes and hear with their own ears the glaring mismatch between someone's words, their actions, and the hard, verifiable facts
Let me say this: there is no such thing as a forum founder - after all, this is a discussion forum, not a one man show like a blog. Also the closest person to a founder was pushed out more than a decade ago. The people this community owes the most are not the ones who have sought a figurehead status and in the past, for the sake of all of us getting along, have been allowed to parade as such.
To me the problem with history is that airing someone's dirty laundry is not only going to bring up a lot of stench, but it's the opposite of who we are and our values. I'd rather let them be - if they've learned and have become a better person that's the best I could hope for and I'm happy to leave their dark past buried; if they haven't realized how wrong they have been I don't think that any amount of public shaming could replace that.
In either case, it seems to me the best is to simply move forward and focus on all the positive things we can do. That's one thing worth spending my efforts on. And I'm really happy that this isn't just me but all of us felt the same - we kept taking the high road and focusing on what really matters - being the best community we can be!
I recognize that our community may not be everyone's cup of tea and that's why I'm glad there are others out there to provide different flavors and niches. I wish each of them success as I don't see the world as a zero-sum game. I see it as open and collaborative where our differences do not divide us but enrich us
I appreciate you guys and I'm glad you're here!
