Thanked: 557More and larger pop-up ads than usual?
Has anyone else felt that there seem to be more ads popping up on the forum pages than previously?
I’m getting ads in between forum posts and I don’t recall that happening before. And, I’m getting larger ads on the page than I remember from the past.
I’m using Safari on an iPad mostly. Is there a setting I should be changing?David

This has been an issue for a couple weeks now. The Mentors have brought it up with the higher-ups but no reply yet. Something has changed and its not a good change. Its possible that this has happened to pay for the costs of keeping SRP running as its not free.
If your having issues please post up so everyone knows what's happening.
I installed AdBlockerPlus and took care of it. But it is a full Browser and there are plenty of other options to control Ads.It's just Sharpening, right?

On my cellphone today, I also have a wandering ad that slides around and blocks some of the information as I try to read a post, then it stops at the top of the post and I have to slide the post out from under it. If I bump the ad, it dumps me out of the forum.
Seems like I don't need a vacuum cleaner, this sux bad enough.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Yep. Ads on my tablet are larger and more frequent and its driving me nuts. Will look into an ad blocker as suggested. Thanks for bringing up this issue.

I have the same issue that Geezer mentioned. I also added ad block plus but it wanted me to use a different browser and give some permissions which I wasn't really comfortable with so I deleted it. It's not so much that I don't trust them because I use them on my laptop and desktop but It only seems to ask those permissions on mobile. I normally use my phone for the site Because it is easier to load pictures and I can dictate. I guess we all make choices. Perhaps it could be done the way that Spotify and Pandora do where if you buy a subscription you get no ads. However you have the option of the free site but you have to put up with the ads. At least that way there would be a choice in the matter. It's bothersome to me but frankly given the choice I might consider it worth it to go one way or the other depending on how I felt about the choice.

Thanked: 2209.
.
I just turned off my ad blocker to see if any changes had been made.
.
They have! No longer do I see multiple ads in the middle of a thread. This is very good!
Just see ads on top/bottom and down the right side. That I can live with.
I will turn my ad blocker off now.
Thanks to those who effected this welcome change.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
