Can I refer my local barber by name?
I go to a local barber and this guy is great. He offers straight razor shaves on different levels ranging from basic to "spa" level treatment. I found him by shear luck a few years ago and have been going to him since. He basically retired from his corporate job, went to barber school, apprenticed, then opened up his own shop. We talk straights, home brew beer (as I'm a home-brewer), and all the usual chatty Cathy stuff. I bring him home brewed beer (brought him a bourbon barrel aged old english ale this morning that I aged in a bourbon barrel for a year in a barrel that I sourced from a local distillery), he'll pass on craft beers to me that the local craft breweries gift to him. What more could you ask for? This guy is a straight shooter (no pun intended).
Can I promote/refer his barber shop by name in our community here? Please?

Well, it's against the rules to just advertise a business here unless he was a maker of shaving hardware like we discuss Boker razors for instance. He could become a vendor and then he could advertise all he wants or you could just mention you have a great barber in a discussion and then members could PM you to get the name and location.

Thanked: 4826That sounds like a great place.
I’ll pm you if I’m planning a trip to Chicago.
Also it doesn’t sound like a bad semi retirement gig either. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
