Thanked: 6FS/FT threads
How about an option in the For Sale/Trade forum for the thread starter to mark the goods sold and have it show up in the thread title?

The forums don't work that way. You're trying to use a discussion forum for a classifieds ad system... it doesn't work too well.
If you want to manage ads like a real classifieds system, try using the Classified ad feature on the main site.

Thanked: 6Well, it was a thought, anyway... I know a lot of forum software locks a post for editing after a certain period of time, so thought I'd ask if there was some other way to accomplish it.

Would it be possible for a moderator to remove the posting once it's been listed as "SOLD"?

I have no problem with editing a thread title as long as time permits and moderation duties are light, but I would need a PM request to do so.
However, usually a big red SOLD sign in the initial post of the thread works well!
