    Default Chat Box Problem?

    Good Morning Gents

I have just logged in to the forum and as the page was loading I had a warning from my Anti-Virus and it blocked the site!! On the second attempt at viewing the boards I got this message -

"www. straightrazorplace. com /forums / misc. php? show= ccbmessages" " detected new variant Trojan" "Trojan-Spy.html.Fraud.gen"

I've had to block the chat box loading to be able to get to the boards. It is the first time I have seen this here, so not really sure what has happened, just thought I'd better let someone know.

    Question

Not problems like Silver is having but I can't log on to the chat anymore now it is embedded in the SRP website.

I used the chat box for the first time yesterday without any problems. I didn't have to log into it separately to post a message after I logged into the main forum page, I don't know if that is a post revamp thing or not as I've not been here long.

This is what I get after clicking OK to run Java version.

    [16:32] Connecting...
    [16:32] Logging in...
    [16:32] -- *** Looking up your hostname...
    [16:32] -- *** Checking ident
    [16:32] -- *** Found your hostname
    [16:32] -- *** No identd (auth) response
[16:32] Error : Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (Connection Timed Out)
    [16:32] Disconnected from chat.freenode.net

    Hope that can be sorted.

I think she's talking about the chatbox, not the Java IRC. Am I wrong?
I've never had any issues with the chatbox, and can post in it anytime I am logged in

I get the exact same thing when I am already logged into #SRP IRC as my SRP username. You can get around that by going here: and choosing a different nickname

Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

Yup, I mean the chat box on the main forums page. It's just bugging me now that everytime I go onto that page the AV pings at me.

    Default IRC chat

Whether I try to log into the chat through the freenode link I've been coming to for a week or I try going directly to the chat via the tab at the homepage, I get the same message.

    [time] Connecting...
[time] Unable to connect : null

This happens at both chats and I'm not doing anything differently. I've tried logging in under a different username, but that's not working either. Any suggestions?

    We've not changed a thing

Most likely your AV software updated a profile that was tagging something as bad, that wasn't. Then it updated again and they fixed it

Ah the joys of computers. CD, PM me if you still can't get in.

TY. I just love technology and the seemingly endless parade of updates and bug fixes to cure the problems the initial update fixed! Niiiiiice.

Happy to report no further problems.
