Thanked: 11Much as I like the vision collision I think I could be tempted to use the default one. My one gripe with VC was the panel on the far left would load last resulting in the main post frame resizing, most of the time it was unnoticeable but on the go slow days I found the text jumping uncomfortable.
Only comment on this new Default style is that when you are viewing a thread the message box width is a bit narrower than the menu bar above it.

I too prefer the older style "default" template. Only problem with it is the Site Sponsor ad on the left of the screen makes the right hand side of the messages disappear off the right side of the screen and I have to move the message over to the left every time I open one to be able to read it!
I'm using a Mac iBook. Perhaps it's a problem with Safari! A pain in the bum to say the least but I suppose I'll have to put up with it as the new template is horrible on the eyes! My eyes at least.

Just tried it in Firefox and it's just the same so it ain't Safari. Anyone got any ideas?Last edited by Galopede; 07-16-2008 at 12:16 AM.

I only see this if I make the text size quite large. Oh, yes, also if there's a really long URL someone has just pasted in [instead of using the LINK button], or an extremely large picture. This isn't really new with this format, it was here even before the Vision Collision came in.
At least the new default avoids the Vision Collision problem of the stripes on the left not growing when the text gets bigger/longer than can fit. That was easy, just eliminate the stripes! (Vision Collision still has the problem, which I reported early on... but probably doesn't matter to me, since I don't like the rest of Vision Collision anyway....)
This Default is pretty similar to the Steel Blue, and works OK so far for me! Thanks for leaving us an alternative!
