    Default Classifieds question

When an item is sold, how long does the ad stay up? I made a purchase last week and needed to look at the ad, but it was already gone. Does the seller control if the ad is up or not?

I had the info I needed in an email, but I imagine this could happen to others. Maybe having an archive would help. Thanks!

Sellers can remove ads whenever they want. In addition, when placing an ad, the seller has a few options about how long he/she would like the ad to stay up.

The way it is now, all ads are automatically removed when an item is sold.
The reason is that the classifieds should represent everything that is for sale at a given time. Otherwise it would be too difficult for people to find something they want to buy.

We have discussed moving sold classifieds to a archive, but due to the amount of coding, that is not yet implemented.

Would it also be possible to get a message notification for the private messages in the Classifed section?
Is there any reason why there's the seperated "normal inbox"-thing and the "classified message"?
    Thnx.

If an ad is removed after items are sold, how can buyers leave feedback for a seller that doesn't have any current listings?

Also, is there any way to avoid having the remaining, unsold items consolidated onto less pages? I come up with five pages under the straight razors section, but after the first page there are only a few per page.

I have noticed that if you ask the seller a question through the classifieds forum and he responds, there is a link in the e-mail that still works after the ad has been removed.

Yup, and us sellers can still view our ads from the "your ads" section of the classifieds. So asking the seller for a link should work as well.
