    Default Website slow to load

    Hi,

I'm looking forward to spending many hours on this site. (For better or worse!)

I've noticed that every time I navigate to another thread or any other page, even when I first go to SRP.com, it takes some time to load fully.

I'm thinking it's the banner ad on the right side, but it also could be my browser--Firefox 8.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Many thanks!

It's true that SRP is not the fastest site to load. I don't know why, but it has always been like that.
Usually it is reasonable, so if it is really slow, try using a different computer / browser to see if the problem is maybe your system or not.

The only time I know it is really dead is at 10 AM CET, because that is when the daily backups are made. This only takes 15 minutes though.

    1. It works fine for me. pops right up, very quickly.
    2. I'm on a T3, your connection is prolly just slow.
    3. I am using Firefox version 3.03, and the newest version is 3.04. There is absolutely no such thing as Firefox 8.

    Default Well let's see here...

There is a FireFox .8 (point eight) IIRC. Unless you are using this to surf the web:

In which case I think I know your problem!

I've had the same problem for several months, using at least 4 different versions of Firefox (currently using 3.04). Turning off all my extensions didn't help. It still does it.

A complete reformat didn't make any difference either. I'm using XP.

I just wait the extra time for loading.

Edit: So far, it only seems to happen on this site. Typical FF speed everywhere else.

I meant to say version 3. I'm not sure where that came from. Oh yeah, iTunes 8.

At any rate, it seems my system's normal from the feedback. Thanks for the responses!

The site is just slow sometimes. I'm on a 15mb connection and often this site either doesn't load or is slow.

Something you can try if you think ads are a problem is "ad-blocker plus" Works wonders. I haven't seen a ad in months
