Exclamation Please help grow the SRP Wiki

    Background

    • dwessell, who, as well all know, is Da Bomb, has launched the SRP Wiki. This is excellent news, because a Wiki offers the ability to collect, amend, and enhance posts in this forum which otherwise would be lost, cluttered, or neglected.
    • A group of SRP members has made it their aim to grow this wiki. Its social group can be found here: Straight Razor Place Forums - The SRP Documentation Team (aka The Wiki Crew).
    • The co-ordination of the team's efforts takes place in the SRP irc channel (aka the Chat). You are cordially invited to drop in and ask questions, make suggestions, or seek advice. Keep in mind that although there will always be 5 or more people in the channel, they may not necessarily be near their keyboards; either wait a few minutes or leave a message. The Documentation Team will respond in good time.

    What needs to be done?
The Documentation Team have drawn an outline of what we believe to be a useful structure for the Wiki's content. You can see that outline on the front page of the Wiki. We believe that this structure is an adequate representation of the various topics on which a straight razor shaver needs information.

This structure now needs to be filled with content. The Documentation Team have started converting some of the more obviously useful posts to Wiki pages, notably in the Tutorials Category. But there is an abundance of useful information buried in the forums. You can help by raising these treasures.

The way forward at the moment is therefore as follows:

    1. If you have written, or know of, a post that should be put into the Wiki, you can do any of the following:
      1. Report the link of the post to the Documentation Team via the Chat. We will then take care of it.
      2. Add the post to the Wiki yourself. If you require help, talk to the Documentation Team via the Chat.
      3. Clean up, amend, or enhance existing posts. Keep in mind that the Wiki knows your login credentials for the forum, but does not have single sign-on. You will need to log into the Wiki first before you can edit anything.
    2. If you would like to help more, join the Documentation Team social group.
    3. If you want to take ownership of a particular section of the Wiki, talk to the Documentation Team via the Chat.

    That's it, really...
Yes, it is that simple. In theory. In practice, we will need your support. Please help grow the SRP Wiki.

    Thanks Robin

Since you jumpstarted the wiki with content and structure back in Sept/Oct, the wiki has attracted more content and more helpers.

I don't know how I missed this thread before It's a good one so I am bumping it

    Thanks everyone

Woo hoo. I just added to the Wiki on Razors to avoid.

    Log in, edit, log off.

The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

We already had a contest. Which does not mean that we could not have another. Like "most additions to the SRDB in 24hrs".
