    Here's some info on Heljestrand: History

    I have quite a bit of information on J.G. Escher, that file is way to large to upload, contains pictures. If you like I can send it by regular e-mail. Unfortunately for most members it is mostly in German.

    To cut a long story short: J.G. Escher & Soehne started in 1790, changed their name to JGES in 1920. In 1948 they started making toy cars as well. The toy cars are collectors’ items just as the hones! They were nationalized by the communist government in 1953 and became part of the VEB (= company owned by the people) Press- und Schleifmittel. Later the name changed to Fabrik Plastawerke Sonneberg, Betrieb Theuern. In 1991 after the reunification of Eastern and Western Germany it was sold to Hummel & Mann makers of filters and parts for the automotive industry.
