Thanked: 328Going back to lightbox on images?
Hi all..
Instead of having attachments displayed in the post as they are now. I've been really thinking of going back to the thumbnail/lightbox.. It'll make the forums look a lot nicer, and stop some of the width issues we have..
Any negative comments? (shush Doc.Wayne.Charles, I know what you think)

Thanked: 402There should be an option to limit width.
Personally I find thumbnails not so great, cause different hosts have different (cookie / popup / etc) habits that not every browser handles well.

Thanked: 328I can limit the size.. But then I have to limit to the lowest screen size. Like my laptop that I'm on now.. So if your on a bigger monitor, you get hosed.
The good thing about thumbnails is it'll show as big as possible for you.. While not breaking the layout of the screen..
These are really well done lightboxes, and I don't think anyone would have issues with them as far as popups, etc.

Thanked: 1903I think it would be great if the personal album produced Bbcode for further use in posts, using the thumb and linking the actual image.

I think you should consider my previous suggestions that images should be resizeable in-post!
Alternatively, we could just try educate people to adjust the settings on their camera before taking pics.Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

the only over-sized images i ever come across are those that are not uploaded and attached to the message but rather hosted on another site (photobucket or flickr) and just linked in...
i like the attached images they way they are can you simply make it so that all images have to be uploaded to SRP and not hosted?
please do not go back to the thumbnails!Be just and fear not.

Don't go back to the thumbnail. That would be a giant step in the wrong direction.
