Redneck Soap Article
at the behest of a few people I'm doing a series of articles in the wiki on my low cost line of DIY shaving gear.

is the first of these, if y'all could take a look and let me know if the formatting is up to snuff that'd be great. Like to make sure I'm doing it right before I do all the others.Last edited by jockeys; 06-11-2009 at 08:21 PM.

My question is that Jockeys seems to be a magician. He turned his unmanicured, manly hands into soft, petite, manicured hands.
How'd he do that?
Really it looks good. Question becomes how does the RNS compare with MB or TGQ or SRD or insert soap manufacturer here?

RNS lathers more easily than mamabear but never seems to smell as nice. it is not anywhere as good as SRD cream. it is not as slick as st. charles shave due to lack of bentonite, but it doesn't dry out as fast either. it's about on par with chelsea's soap garden shave soap, only will less complex scents and slightly longer lasting lather. lathers somewhat more easily and thicker than col. conk but lather lasts longer due to higher glycerin content.
alternately you can solicit opinions from the DFW get together crew, most of them have been given samples. iirc vgod and dewey were particularly fond of the cinnamon and clove scent and grapefruit scent, respectively.
I will be experimenting with lemongrass and spearmint for the next get-together; recipe v2.7

Thanked: 1903I voted "it needs work". We quickly fixed some formatting issues, and I think it looks a bit better now. The ToC is now automatic, because we used headings.
If you intend to do more articles, either use OpenOffice or drop by the chat and let us quickly run you through the syntax.
Sterling stuff, though. I need to try and get the necessary ingredients. Thank you!
