    Default Image wanted: Guillotine cut

    Chaps,

I'm currently using a day off to clean up bits and pieces in the Wiki. While we have an image of the scything motion, we don't really have one of the guillotine cut. Any takers?

    Regards,
    Robin

The same picture shown in two different orientations showing the equivalence of the slicing motion (1st) and the guillotine motion (2nd).

Image taken from 1961 version of the Barbering Textbook.

Nice pics! Those would be quite helpful I would think. Just make sure there's a note that says to use extreme caution, because more forward than down = good size slice into your skin

I find that doing a guillotine motion (I'd not known that was what it was called) with the heal leading is a bit more comfortable for me, and makes me feel safer when I do it.

I do it either way, depending on what part of the face I am dealing with.

I do find that the tough spots go much better with a slicing/guillotine motion.

Perfect. We're working on Advanced shaving techniques for the straight razor - Straight Razor Place Wiki already

if u guys want animated ones that demonstrate the sweeping motion let me know, id be glad to do it but im not gonna do it if its not wanted

    smaller slower?
i can take time and make it a bit better, with text ro arrows or whatever..... just let me know if u want it.
*use unfreez to make .gif's. just drag em into the window.

use irfanview to extract images from already made .gif's/
i could make the animation Match the other exactly, using the same razor image.

I like it a lot, face or no face. But arrows would be helpful, I think.
