I don't know, it seemed like a good idea, until I saw some guys with a few months of membership have become mentors. What's up with that...? Guys like Ron, and Glen, Yes, absolutely, but I think you need to look at your list again...

I am in complete agreement with Ron, and as Glen says, the thanks you get and give are the only relevant parts of the reputation system.

Here's another point, now if I post, which I won't be posting anymore, I'll just watch. If a Mentor is on there and he disagrees with me, and say, it's one of your junior mentors, I'm wrong right off the bat. What't the sense?

BTW Ron, the mentor badge is a badge, not a hat, could you please put it on your lapel?

Thanked: 3795That's my concern as well, so right off the bat, I'm not disagreeing with you. Years ago I worked as a fitness trainer. I was in the middle of explaining something to a couple of 19 year old guys when one of them interrupted me and told me that I was wrong because "the guy over there" told them to do it a different way and then he said "and he's bigger than you so he must be right!"
PLEASE keep posting.

Thanked: 13245If I might interject here before this goes way, way, off track...
Most of the Mentors were chosen not only for their knowledge, (there are plenty of people with that) but more importantly for their willingness to help, and their positive attitude....

Ron, Your fine, I've gotten great advice off you, and many of the other senior members with loads of experience. I'm saying that some guys got the badge, who have less experience than I do, many of them, were wrong many times in posts which I corrected. Now, If some new guy has a question, and "Mentor" posts, especially a junior mentor, and then I post. Who's he gonna believe, as I said, what's the sense of me even posting. We don't need no stinkin' badges, WE have join dates...Isn't that enought. Why are we so quick to label people. Mentor this, Mod that. Super mod this, cmon guys, where all adults here. I'm gonna make up a title for my self, Super Pain in that ass guy....
