What you can do to avoid the two clicks, is bookmark "New Posts" and "Subscribed Threads" and placed them on the Bookmark Toolbar in Firefox. I don't use IE but I'm assuming you can do something similar there.

Well that depends.. It is for you. However, what about a new person that's just showing up? Do you think they need to know where to get the the chat and webcast more than they need to know how to get to User CP or New Posts?
And I'll go a step further, by looking at the statistics for the site. Those two buttons aren't the most used.. Forums and Wiki are the two most used buttons.

Well, pretty well the only button I used was "New Posts." I'd like to kindly request it be brought back.

If the New Posts button isn't what people use to keep track of posts they haven't previously seen, how do they do it? If there's a better way than New Posts, some education would be nice. Thanks

As with any new changes, there will be those people that like it and those that don't. Just like the changes that came before this one, we will get accustomed to it and go on. Sometimes change seems difficult but in the end it's for the better. Let's give it a chance and see.
