Thanked: 335Bruno,
Thanks for the explanation, it helped sweep away some of the obfuscation. I had assumed that the old super moderators were given special abilities to solve the big, the unique, the critical, the urgent. This gave me solace, thinking that were I flummoxed by some dread shaving issue or piqued by some area of concern here on the forum I could turn to a super moderator for the fix. Now we have senior moderators and I have to admit that new description does not imbue the holder of the title with the same, maybe phantom, but strength nonetheless, as the former title had.
Senior implies that the person so described has been around a while - has whiskers, so to speak. I guess that's certainly in keeping with the general discussion here, so this is good.
But I do miss the mental image of the well lathered guy wearing a red bib emblazoned with a large gold "S", grasping a knot of finest badger in one hand and shining 1/2 hollow blade in the other, a 3" latigo strop clipped to his belt and flapping in the wind. And now we've got a guy with gray stubble.
Change is good
