Thanked: 1Just wondering ....
Is it me or is the srp site timing out a lot lately ......
Don't say it is my isp, that one is fine, 5mb/1mb cable connection (and I only have this problem at srp and neonamerica.com .... they use the same applet).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Hoekie

Hoekie, no problems here. I'm on here an average of 30 minutes/day and never got kicked off. I once had that problem before I started sweeping for spyware - certain sites were more problematic than others. I do a sweep everyday with three different spyware removers. Do you have any?

Thanked: 1Ok, to make things very clear, my computer has no problems (do I have any .... I provide many with any software they need, arrogantly, call me a pro behind my desk).
I encounter this when I am on for hours, yes hours, and seems to happen on the hour exactly (backups?). Mr AFDavis gets booted in chat quite regularly as well, as I have noticed so I am not the only one.
Any admin that can help on this?

What course of action do you suggest? The last time I checked we were running the latest version of the chat and there were no problems logged of a similar nature on their support site. There aren't many freeware chat packages that integrate with vBulletin, so changing to another package isn't easy... do you know of any with a good reputation?
Hoekie, I wish I had a better answer for you and I certainly realize how frustrating these problems can be... my life has been robust with "wishes" WRT computers -- many years ago (in the dark ages... before magnetic disks were available) I used to wish (actually, pray ) that the high-speed paper tape reader wouldn't rip the tape and make me re-run a 12-hour assembly to generate another one. Later on in my computer life, I used to wish that the heads wouldn't crash and destroy that nifty new state-of-the-art 2.5mb magnetic disk, and still later I wished for many years that Windows didn't crash every few hours, that Word didn't lock up on very large documents and corrupt the source file, and that modems didn't take errors and disconnect 45-minutes into a 50-minute download, etc. Fortunately, my success at wishing has been better than my success at playing the lottery and (thankfully) those problems are mostly a thing of the past. Now I mostly wish I didn't have 50+ spam messages every time I retrieve email from my mail server

Thanked: 328Hokemanx..
I think it's probably a jump between you and the servers that's going down.. It's not the server, I keep a pretty close eye on it... Probably a router dying, I imagine it'll pop up on someones radar soon and be fixed.
Assuming we're not talking about the chat, and just accessing the html or php pages.
