    Very well written.

All the best to you, enjoy that treasured razor! I have not had the pleasure of meeting Lynn, but have benefitted immensely thanks to this site and many post that I have read from him.

    This is a wonderful community!

    Nice post!

So did Lynn get your razor shave ready, and have you shaven with it yet? Was that your first straight shave?

Thanks and "no", Lynn's in the middle of moving from Ohio to Missouri, I believe. He said if I can wait till he's settled he'd be glad to help. So, no he's not touched it yet but I did shave with it, partially. Had someone try and re-sharpen it, ruin the edge, and due to that it cut me too. I didn't know bad edges can be dangerous to "newbies" like me.

I'd used my Dovo and Shumate a few weeks prior to cutting myself with only a few small "niks". I get the improperly sharpened blade back, try it, and sliced myself on the cheek due to it not cutting the whiskers correctly, and me not knowing what to do in that case.

Shoulda put it down immediately and had it fixed. I was just so exited to use the family heirloom I rushed it and, well, the rest as they say is history (or a "lesson" learned)!

    Arrrrr.....call me scarface, now, matey!

Great post! Nice razor. And, from what I can tell from the picture, your Grandfather was a classy man who knew how to shave well. You can follow his footsteps.

You are gracious in saying that kind remark. Thanks for noticing what all of my family believed about BOTH of them. That they had "Class"!!
