Thanked: 33Getting email replies that aren't mine
Hi everyone,
Just a note to say that my email inbox tonight was full of replies to comments that i didn't make although i did comment on the relevant threads.why is this happening and are the relevant members getting the correct responses?
regards

i believe you get notifications based on subscribed threads not your posts only

I'm guessing you are receiving those emails because of your thread subscriptions settings here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/profi...do=editoptions
As far as I know, the forum thread-email subscription settings do not differentiate between replies made to you and replies made to others in threads you've participated in. Like janivar just saidFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

This maybe the source of the issue. If you go to your 'user control panel' on the right corner above and under your screen name. Look at the menu on the left and go to 'edit options'. Look at the 'default thread subscription mode' and select 'do not subscribe'
Edit; Lee beat me to the keyboard. ;-)Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1587Another option is to set up a Filter system on your email client - how you do it depends on the client, but generally you can filter on the "sender" as all emails from SRP contain a similar character string in the "sender" address. Create a folder just for SRP emails and tell the filtering software to send it there.
This is what I do, and it keeps forum emails away from the inbox (and presumably the important mail) whilst giving you the opportunity to peruse replies to threads you have subscribed to at your leisure.
Of course, you can just turn off the emails as has been mentioned. But filtering them away from the inbox works well for me.
