Classifieds..."Buy it Now"
Ok, I have a razor listed in the classifieds and I was notified via email from webmaster@straightrazorplace that the razor was sold. Im thinking cool! But when I check my paypal account no payment was recieved. This was 8 hrs ago. And still no payment. In my experience paypal payments have been almost instant. I tried contacting purchaser with the email provided with no reply and tried contacting purchaser via purchaser profile link that was provided, no reply. Can I just relist the razor? Or should I wait longer for reply, if so what is a fair amount of time to wait? As you can tell I was not blessed with patience. Looking forward to a reply.
Thanks Tony B.

Tony,
From my experience, you may want to wait at least 1 day before relisting the razor. The buyer--and their payment--may still reappear.
Perhaps the buyer encountered a technical problem (ie. computer crash, internet connection or even Paypal) that prevented the payment from going through."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain

Thanks for asking...I chose that ID when I joined SRP because it seemed appropriate for me at the time--given the fact that I had decided to abandon modern shaving technology (ie. multi-blade razor) and was about to begin using an older, simpler and more traditional method of shaving (ie. straight razor). Therefore the choice of a mythological hero struggling against modern technology seemed fitting to me as an ID.

From my experience SRP doesn't mark the transaction completed until the paypal transaction is completed. Because of this once I had two buyers manage to submit a payment basically as soon as I listed the razor.
So this makes me think that either there was a glitch of some sort with the software, or if you have mistyped your paypal address the payment has ended in somebody else's paypal account.
I think it's up to you what you want to do. I'd probably give a reasonable amount of time to hear back from the buyer and if I don't just relist.

Thanked: 530For what it's worth, and this is just me, I never allow the Buy it Now feature, not for any problems I've had, but I'd much rather do a transaction "in person" (PM) than completely by automation... I post it without the "Instant Purchase through Paypal" option, and, when people want what I post they PM me.. Then I can answer any questions about the item, and give more than full disclosure, I can get a shipping address, give an ETA, and basically make everythign go smoother... That way I also know exactly when the payment takes of, lands, and let them know exactly when the sold item will take off...
It just works better for me, so I suggest it to you...

I had this happen. If you don't have the link paypal email tied in they can click on pay and you will get this email. Or, if you do they can click on it but when directed to paypal site they cancel out. They haven't paid.
In the email it should tell you who "purchased" the razor. You can shoot them an email or PM to see if they still want it.
It may be they clicked to purchase but haven't made payment yet for whatever reason. Or, it may be they backed out of the sale.http://ashevillewetshavers.weebly.com/ April 26-27th come to one of the greatest meet ups of wet shavers!
