PM not private message, Sham? You may have to elaborate. If you go to their profile, you should be able to see what options they have for messaging. Some guys provide an email.

If you know the parties name go to your private messages. In the menu down on the left is a tab for 'send new message'. You know the rest from there. Alternatively go to the member list within the 'community' tab on the toolbar above. Find the member's name and click on it. Go to their profile, as Ben said, and there is a message thingie there. Not as good as a PM IMO unless they frequently check messages. In their profile they may also allow email or they may not.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
