Why do I have to constantly "log in"?
I love this site and the forums, but have one aggravation ...
It seems as I navigate around within SRP, I constantly find that I am no longer logged in. This is not an issue of timing out, but only seems to occur when I change screens. I can navigate to SRP, then log in, and once I click on classifieds or forums, I look above (top right), and I am not showing as logged in. It doesn't happen on every navigation, but I find that I have to log in several times during the course of a "visit". It is most aggravating when I have keyed in a message to a member, or responded to a classified, or simply trying to post, and I then get the message that says I have to be logged in ... so then I have to re-key my message.
Anyway, if there is something simple I can do to rectify this, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!

What browser and what operating system? Check to make sure your security settings aren't set to delete cookies on a certain interval or something like that. I know if I use Chrome in incognito mode it doesn't hold my settings.

Are you checking the box under the log in that says "remember me" ? Alternatively are your privacy settings blocking cookies ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It seems like it's your web browser, trying this might help
Internet Explorer, try:
1. Select Tools > Internet Options
2. Click the Security tab
3. In the Security Level for this Zone area, set the slider to Medium. If you do not see a slider, click the Default Level button.
4. Click OK to save your changes.
In Firefox, try:
1. Click Tools > Options
2. Click the Privacy icon
3. Click the "accept Cookies sites" box and mark the checkbox "Accept third-party cookies" and Select "Keep until: they expire"
4. Click OK to save your changes.

I've had the same thing happen, and it's happened on different computers with different cookie/security permissions. It seems to occur frequently for a day or two, then it doesn't happen again for a while. Also, there are only a couple of sites where I've noticed this behavior.
I'm willing to believe that the browsers I use and their settings may have something to do with it, but I don't understand why that would cause it to happen intermittently, or why it would happen often on some sites and never on others. Strange stuff.

Check the Box !!! Woo-hoo ...
Well, I checked all of my internet options, but to no avail. HOWEVER ... when I checked the box next to my log in (it's NOT labeled as "remenber me", but I guess that's what it is), it seems to have cured my problem.
Thanks to all.
