Default is the chat room temp. down?

I've tried to get onto chat a couple times this evening, but it seems that the Java won't let it go through.
Either that or it's not picking up the chat room at all.
I thought it was just my laptop, but it's happened on the wife's laptop as well.
    odd......

No probs here. Just entered the chat room but with my IRC client. Haven't tried the SRP Java chat.

P.S The Java Chat gives me an error.

The Java is all that I'm used to, click the button, you're in chat.
Is this something that's gone haywire on the website, or is it me?
Can someone tell me how to get or try a different format?

    thanks

I know I'm internet ignorant, but I've never understood the chat. There is a chat button in the toolbar at the top of the page but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is that supposed to be a link to the chat? If so, what is supposed to happen after hitting that button?

On some systems, with some browsers, and if your ISP doesn't block it that page automatically opens up a Java window with chat in it.

In that case, I won't take it personally.
