Thanked: 5Can Anyone out there help??? How to use this site to communicate???
Hello, anyone out there at Straight Razor Place, need help to use this site and communicate with others; how to use the chat and Forums to talk to others to have questions answered regarding straight razors. I hate to show my lack of cpu knowledge, but I can't figure out how to get onto the chat page and get a message typed to participate or where the meeting for Tuesdays and Sundays are held ( in the Forum or the chat page??? ). Any helpful info would be appreciated. I have questons about first sharpening of razors to set the bevel on the edge and the proper progression to accomplish this first sharpening of a new bought razor or a vintage razor. I need some information of strop care and useage and stone care and useage. I would like to talk to someone on the chat or on the regular meeting days, tues. or sun., in real time to discuss some of these things. Hope someone can take the time to read this and supply the info for me to be able to use this site. I was a member way back when it was on yahoo and simple to use and now I just can's seem to get how to use this site figured out, so, as a old newbie I require some assistance. Thanks in advance for any help. Sonny082, James W.

Welcome back to SRP. I don't go to chat but AFAIK it is there to access anytime. I have sent a PM to someone who does know with a link to your post but he is not online now. Someone will be along so in the meantime you'll find a lot of info in the SRP Wiki here.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Hello Sonny082 and welcome back to SRP! If you look towards the top of your screen, right below the SRP logo you will find what is known as a tool bar, it is a row of "buttons" with labels describing their function. One of those buttons is labeled "Chat". Hit that button and you will be on your way to chatting with people in "real time" rather than posting and waiting for responses. Chat is on Sunday and Friday nites.
Feel free to ask questions within the forum as well. If you wish go ahead and post further questions here and I will keep tabs on this thread to help you as I can. Once again, welcome home! kelly
By the way, the "button" marked "wiki" will open up a whole new world of information.Last edited by nun2sharp; 02-13-2011 at 01:15 AM.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
