Thread: We're Back!

Hi all,

Well, after a 90-minute outage caused by our host "fixing" the dupes problem, they fixed it again and we're up and running as-of about 7:30 MST. Hopefully their fix works.

So, again I've deleted all the dupe posts I noticed (except in this forum), rebuilt the post counts, thread counts, etc., etc.

If you get a dupe post after I post this, let me know by replying in this thread. I don't need hundreds of replies... one or two will get the point across, at which time I'll go back to the hosting guys and tell them their "fix" needs some work.

Thanks for your hard work the past week or so Joe. It's hard wearing the asbestos underwear all the time. The good part is the fireman's hat that comes with them. We appreciate all your hard work.

I don't have any duping problems, but I am replying to say that it looks like everyone has 4 stars next to their name. This isn't anything serious, something just got screwed up I suppose.

Thanks Joe....I would hate to know what the withdrawal symptoms would feel like if the site were down for too long!!!!!

And nobody needs those stars anyway, they're redundant (and annoying )

ok... the stars should be working correctly again. That is, if you've been a member for 6-mo or more one star is displayed, 1-yr and there's two stars, etc. When you've been a member for 20 years you won't get 20 stars -- the max is four stars.

The reason they went bonkers a couple days ago is because I disabled some features while troubleshooting the dupe post problem and that caused the styles to default to always display 4 of them.

BTW... for those wishing the stars would go away, I'm not a big fan of them either but they come with the Steel series Styles. I could get rid of them totally by editing the style code, but then I'd have to do that again EVERY time we upgrade the forum. You'll just have to learn to live with them .

(Or, you can select a non-steel series style via your User CP .)
