Thread: Google Search

I wonder whether I use the new search tool the right way. When I am looking for certain threads or posts I get all sorts of unrelated stuff I don't need. What am I doing wrong?

the google search is not meant for finding particular threads or posts, use the advanced search for that. google is for finding relevant information for your query.

it's the same as searching on the internet at large, if you want something very specific like a particular article on wsj or nyt google isn't the best way to find it, but if you want to find relevant information on the topic those articles are covering google is a good choice.

+1 to Gugi's advice. I'm still a big fan of the google search as I often am searching for info on general topics and not looking for specific threads. Glad to have the old version available in case I do want to look for a specific thread though.

My initial reaction is that it's a good change. Nice to have the old one there too. Thanks all.
