Well that way of behaving is one of the reasons I'm here and what I like about this place, some other forums could learn for it!

One large forum had a cull of members who were active on a British shaving forum, there was no discussion or explanation at the time. I did get a subsequent apology from the site owner and an offer to reinstate, apparently the mod(s) responsible had thought that we were going to do something "wacky" so just banned en-mass before any rules were broken.

On the forum that I help moderate, for example, the only way to earn an instant ban is by spamming. We actually consider "whacking spammers" as a kind of macabre sport. While there have been others who have earned the wrath of the administration, it normally takes sustained effort rather than a one off accident.

Talk about SRP all you want but if you don't have something nice to say ...... well maybe it is best not to say anything at all.

Y'know forums such as SRP, come to be because, in this case, two straight razor enthusiasts took their time and money to bring it to fruition. So it is as if they have invited you into their home for a get together.

Just as you would have expectations of guests having a level of decorum if you invited them into your home, SRP has rules of conduct that members are expected to abide by. If someone invited to your home committed a serious enough transgression you might ask them to leave. If it was not too bad they might be welcomed back, but OTOH, if it was bad enough they would no longer be welcome. It is sort of like that IMHO.
