Why do I still get e-mail notifications?
Through the User CP I indicated I do not want e-mail notifications. I still get some. Could you please remedy that for me? Or do you prefer me to block SRP as a sender in Outlook Express?
The funny thing is I found 2 notifications this morning while the User CP indicated I have 4 subscribed threads with new posts.Last edited by Kees; 08-27-2006 at 05:53 AM.

Choices: Do not subscribe No email notification Instant email notification Daily email notification Weekly email notification
When you view your list of subscribed threads are they all set to "none" in the "Notification" column? If not, change the ones set otherwise to None and that should stop the emails.
Personally, I almost never use the subscription feature on this forum so I have my default set to "Do not subscribe"? If you feel the same, you could delete all your existing subscriptions, set your default to do not subscribe, and see if that solves your problem. (I still occasionally subscribe to a particular thread... I just use the thread tools pull-down while viewing the thread.)
As to why you received emails even though your default is no emails, I can only guess that you inadvertently clicked an icon somewhere that activated email notification on those particular threads.Last edited by azjoe; 08-27-2006 at 03:38 PM.

Hello Joe,
The Default Thread Subscription Mode has "no e-mail notification" on.
As you said above: in my list of subscribed threads some have "none" and some have "daily" in the notification column.
The ones with "daily" I had been subscribed to before I changed the Default Thread Subscription Mode.
So that's the problem.
I like the subscription feature. When I visit SRP I 1st go to User CP and check whether I have replies. If and when I have time left I check for new posts and threads.
Thanks!!
BTW SRP has for me been a great source of information re. the honing and stropping difficulties I had in the past! I now visit it and contribute to it out of interest.Last edited by Kees; 08-27-2006 at 04:01 PM.

Changing the notification feature of the DTSM does not change the e-mail notification of the existent subscriptions, only of the subsequently added subscriptions. I like the subscription feature as it enables me to check replies.
