Default Have the British invaded spell check ?

First of all, if it were not for spell check I'd never post. (Not an invitation to hack my computer and disable spell check) The thing is , in the past week I have an Anglicized version of spell check .... as opposed to American English. If I type "color" it tells me that it is misspelled and I need to change it to colour ...... same with "favorite" ..... needs to be favourite . What is going on ??

The one that comes up when I right click the word with the red underline indicating it is misspelled. I'm running Mint 11 (Katya) with Mozilla/Firefox. Same spell check I started with. I figured it might be some sort of preferences thing on my PC but I haven't changed anything manually. Maybe a linux update did it ?

Gentlemen, whether in the Queen's English or in the American English, never trust the spell check that comes with these computing machine thingies, for it shall lead you astray. I give my heartfelt thanks many times a day to the heroic dictionary.

Without question the USA version is the correct one. You have to take into consideration that "we", the USA, won the war, twice for that matter ..... 1783 and 1812 .... :w but you guys make better shaving brushes .

(running and ducking for cover) :rofl2:

dunno why but the smiley icons aren't showing up with the edit .... MI-5 conspiracy ? LOL
