    Default duplicate threads

When a new thread is made with popular asked term in subject line, can the poster be redirected to a 'duplicate post' page to "review page" first? Maybe even display wiki links too. Such as a "did you mean? look here" type section.

People ask questions with new threads for legitimate reasons. But sometimes a new thread is created when the same thread may already exist from just hours earlier. Even if the review page is not the exact concern, likely the poster may benefit to see other similar threads.

For the user posting a duplicate post, it might be frustrating no one responds. For the viewer if may be frustrating repeating the same answer.

I would not consider such filter on a forum such as new users, but some other areas might fit.

In some instances a member replies to the OP with a link to the thread that is already on that topic. In some cases a moderator will feel the need to merge the threads. Happens more than you know. In some cases they just run on because it isn't noticed or it is noticed and ignored. Good point though.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
