I didn't get anything, so it was not a PM you sent.
The 'contact admin' emails go to Dave. Dave is up to his eyeballs in work.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I can imagine that an email from a non-participating member, to inform him that he no longer wants to participate, is not going to rank high on the priorities list.
It's not like we can delete an account. Well, we could, but we do not want to have posts that are not linked to an account. That is bad database management. And we could put an account in a special group that can no longer posts. But since he left voluntarily, he could come back and we'd have to re-open the account. Which is all work for us. And all for a user who is not interested in participating.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

You have 600 something posts. Hardly a lurker.
Otoh, this thread was started by someone with 10 posts, 2 or 3 of which were in this thread, complaining that the administrator was not replying to his request to close his account. With half a dozen of posts and saying you want to leave, I can hardly call that 'participating'
In my opinion, that is different.
A request for an account name change would have been received differently for obvious reasons. Closing an account is like saying that you want to go, and want us to make an effort to make sure you don't come back. Changing an account name means that you still want to be here but there is a reason to change the account name.
In the former case, we don't care.
In the latter case, we are always prepared to listen and help you out.
I would think that this makes sense.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
