Moderator Titles
I just noticed the blue "Moderator" title bars under your user names are missing, are you guys going undercover?!?!?
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Jimmy, add some broody metal and you have the makings of a Goth artist.
To answer the question: yes, have gotten rid of the moderator and mentor badges. The only badges that remain are vendor and movember for now. The reason we rid ourselves from them was that people could get the impression that the badge was used to 'validate' the poster in his opinion. Like people with a badge were right because they had a badge.
It could also be intimidating if a newer member said something and a bunch of 'blue badges' descended on the thread.
While the underlying structure of our management structure remains the same, there is no reason to differentiate between user groups when it comes to posting about shaving stuff.
If you look carefully you can still see that moderators have their username in Blue. It's not like you don't recognize them anymore. This was mainly done because if someone needs to contact a mod, they can look on the main forum page to see who is online, and the mods will jump out of that list. Still, that identification is a lot more reserved and discreet than the big blue badges.Last edited by Bruno; 11-21-2011 at 07:51 AM.

When we first implemented the colored usernames, I gave the admins (being just Dave, really) hotpink as a practical joke.
I myself still had darkblue, even though I had admin rights. Over time I took on more and more admin work. At one point, Lee mentioned that it was getting confusing because visibly, I was still a senior mod, yet doing admin work and making admin decisions.
So I changed my usergroup to admin to show my true colors. Unfortunately, that color was still hotpink.
But I couldn't change it anymore at that point because that would have been weak.
After a while everyone got used to it and these days, some things are refered to as 'pink decisions' or 'needs pink input'.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
