Thread: Late Classified Updates

I seem to get updates to the classifieds late. Today is December 23. I checked the classifieds several times yesterday, including at night. There were no updates.

Then today, I start seeing ads from yesterday. These are ads that were not there yesterday, but apparently they were posted yesterday and are only being updated today. And it's like that for me every day.

Do I get updates late because I am a newer member or something like that?

Most likely is that the mail system for the classifieds sends mail once a day fot ads...
It is probably sent when cron runs.

Are your updates more than 24 hours behind?

It's not email updates; it's the actual posts on the forum. In the classifieds section, it seems that ads appear the next day.

I'm not sure about other sections. Right now, the Shaving with Safety Razors section says the last post was yesterday (December 22) at 8:47pm, and in the Shaving with a Straight Razor section, the last post was yesterday at 6:33pm. Is that correct?

I've found that if you go to a thread and then basically hit the back button when finished it, many times, takes you back to an older version of the main page or whatever page you started from. I've found that after going back, I hit the refresh button and then it's current again. Howard

Refreshing doesn't seem to cure it, or even viewing in another browser. Here's an example:

I've been browsing all morning, and this ad didn't pop up for me until 2:20pm right now.

Nobody else gets this?

The clock settings for the classifieds are wrong.

We'll work on getting the clock fixed, but in the meantime - no worries. You're not missing out on ads.

I just posted a test at at 4:42PM CST - It shows on the list (for me) as 6:42AM - for you it would say 4:42 AM.
(my ad has been deleted, but you can see screencaptures below that illustrate the behavior)

Ah, that explains it. I thought that maybe I'd be missing out, and someone would snatch something up before me lol
