    Default Moved Threads

    This problem pops up occasionally...

Sometimes when I try the link to a moved thread I'm directed to a page that tells me I have insufficient access privileges to view the thread. Does this happen because the thread is actually locked or because it is somehow linked incorrectly? Or perhaps it's simply a glitch....

May be an example would clarify which is the case.
I think it's most likely the thread was moved to a place accessible by the moderators only.

There's nothing that seems to point to that conclusion.

Edit: Hmmm.... it seems like the second link has been resolved.

Both of your links point to the same place, and as I thought it's mod only access.

If it's only a "moved thread" why is it mod access only? Was it a error on the part of the mod who moved it?

(Edit: I corrected my first link: it should now show the General Shaving Forum, which highlights the two "moved" threads that I'm talkng about)

That's what mods do - when there is a potential problem with a post or thread sometimes they get flagged for review and are removed from public view. Depending on what happens next sometimes they get reinstated, sometimes not.

It is also possible that when the thread was moved the mod forgot to specify 'no redirect'. If that was specified, which requires checking a box, only a mod would see the thread in the forum menu. At least I think that may account for your being able to see a link to it in the forum menu.
