I can't access my In The Deep End blog. It's like it never came over from the old site!

Well, I know it's there... I've seen the file. That, of course, doesn't mean you can access it... I'll check into it and get back to you.

hmmm... I have no trouble getting to it to read and the behind-the-scenes stuff looks ok given a cursory glance. What do you do that fails and what's the failure you get.

If I try 'New Blogs' from the 'Home' page here, there are none listed. The 'Blogs' (old blogs) seems to be being used as a poor man's Forum.

If I click on the following bookmarked link:
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/inthedeepend/
    I get the following error:

    WordPress

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

    * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    * Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    * Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    Red face

ahhh... I see said the blind man.

    Sorry X .

I've fixed part of the problem, and am working on the remainder. When we moved to the new host the prefix on the database server name changed and the software that copied the database cleverly added some apostrophes to some fields that screws up some links. That ripples through system requiring several dozen configuration statements and database fields to be corrected. All we have to do is find them all

    Default Blogged (again)

ok... I think I've got it. (and now that I know how it works, I think I can get it again )

New Blogs should be up and running!

(please let me know if there's still a problem... )
