Thread: Is there a list of shops?

Hi guys,

I've been wanted to get a razor restored but decided I would just buy one that's already restored. I was wondering if SRP has a thread or wiki that has a list of reputable sellers of restored razors. I've found some from visiting random threads but forgot to bookmark them. I've also used the search function but have only come up with: straight-razors-for-sale.com and strazors.com

Apart from building the list, would it be possible to do and Angie's List of sorts for these sites? I'm sure most people would only recommend sites they've tried but I think it would be helpful for noobs like myself to be able to read about the custom experience with certain vendors.

If this is a bad idea or has been tried before please let me know so the mods can lock/delete this thread.

Well, I'm just guessing, but maybe you haven't discovered the classifieds section of SRP. In that section you will find this Member Services - Straight Razor Place Classifieds and I think it's what you're looking for, maybe. If I misunderstood your question, my apologies.

I guess that place is limited to members of this forum who do restorations. Is there a list of non-forum member owned sites that sell restored razors?

what i would recommend is going through the show and tell forums and looking at the razor porn, this will give you ideas about what can be done and by whom...find a member whose work you like and pm them about either doing our restorations or if they have razors for sale.
