Thanked: 247I hear you and I fault no one but myself on this. But as an operator I try and not carry excess inventory in the first place and I try and price everything low enough to keep a steady flow all the time rather than compressing business to a narrow time frame.
It's all philosophy.

Yeah in B school they try to tell you to let customers know that there will be a sale next month so the client can prep for it and hopefully spend their "consumer surplus" on other items. If you have the money even advertise that you are going to have a sale. But if someone comes back proving they bought the item just days before and were not informed to just go ahead and give them the savings... if you have competent managers who know how to run a till arg!!
Those who come in a day or two late you are to never give them the discount but rather plea what a downer it is and inform them there are sales ever march or every month or whatever - the idea there is to inspire them to come often and have a look.
Or some BS like that. Everyday low prices is an other tactic that seems to be working well for some... low end vendors.David

Thanked: 6Yeah - I was one of those day or two late guys... 20% off in bold print... and I didn't realize 'oops, it's August, you idiot' till the razor was in checkout. I'll be waiting until they're on sale again, but I doubt they'd be able to do any better than 20% off on the Hart razors.

Classic normally shows a monthly discount code % on their facebook page. I believe it is available for purchases over
$100. As for "sales" on certain items for a limited time that seems to be the norm with wet shaving suppliers.Bob
