Thanked: 247Request/question
What do people do when they read to the bottom of the thread and want to go back to the sub directory they were reading?
I find myself scrolling up to the top to get back, or using the back arrow on my browser.
On other forums using vBulletin® Version 4.2.0, the path bar:
forum>welcome Center>Site Help, Comments, and suggestions>Thread
Appears at the bottom of the page and at the top. I find this very helpful!
What does everyone else do?
Thanks
Ken

You can also hit the top button on the bottom left of a thread. Takes you back up top without scrolling. Then you can click on the subforum at the top, or forum for the forum index.

Thanked: 1371It wouldn't be a big deal to add breadcrumbs at the end of the threads if enough people thought it was a worthwhile use of real estate.
If we decide to do that, it might be awhile... There is some behind the scenes stuff I'm waiting for before making any changes.
Does the quick navigation dropdown menu show up for you (just below the Reply button)?
That is very similar...

I usually just open separate threads in new browser tabs. That way I have a tab for the main home page or subdirectory, a tab for a specific thread, a tab for this, tab for that, etc.
I've gotten used to using tabs in Firefox for everything. It allows me to easily go back and forth between browser pages on different websites.

Thanked: 1587You read to the bottom of threads? Well, number one you need to stop doing that.
I use the scroll bar on the side. I've got it set up so there are not so many posts per page, and it is seriously one flick of the fingers to get back to the top nav bar (I use a - God help me - Mac. On a PC I guess it would be one roll of a mouse or something...)

Does your finger have to touch something during the flicking or does the Mac just somehow sense it magically? We poor PC users have to make contact with our mice or keyboards as we flick, unless we shell out for fancy voice activated stuff (and then we don't even have to flick unless we really want to show our emotions too!)
Don't worry Jimbo, nobody will read to the bottom of this thread so your magic finger flicking secret is still safe. Unless Eric adds some helpful bottom-of-thread breadcrumbs

Thanked: 1587Yes, there is a little rectangular-ish pad at the front that I use to move my fingers over. 1 finger moves the cursor around, 2 fingers scrolls windows and things, 3 fingers changes desktops, 4 fingers opens apps. I have not tried 5 fingers - I like to keep some mystery in my life.

Thanked: 247Yes the dropdown is there...but I have to click it, scroll down and find the sub-forum I am in, then click that.
The breadcrumbs are a one click fix, and I would much rather have than the drop down actually.
I would love them, but I do not want to create hassle. If others want it...I would love it.
