IRC Chat on Windows Phone
Was wondering if anyone here has a Windows Phone and uses an IRC app? I'm having a hard time getting it to connect... When I think I have it all setup right, it says I need SASL. But I don't know what to put for username/password there.
Thanks for any help

Thanked: 1587Connecting with SASL
Sounds to me as though it requires you to register your username with freenode if you haven't already done so. Then SASL is a way to authenticate to services.
But I am no expert. Perhaps someone with more technical skills will come along. In the meantime, if your client is one of the ones listed in that link you may be able to set it up with the information there.
Good luck.

I can get it working on my android phone through a 3rd party app.... Don't really like the interface though..

Well, first make sure you register. So go to this page: Using SRP Chat
Follow the directions for downloading and using Pidgin too.
After you register there, make sure you wait and follow up with the confirmation email that it will send you. Then follow the directions again in that email. That should be it. Once you understand and do all those directions, you should be able to figure it out on your phone. On my app, there was a separate area to login with SASL.
Let me know how it goes
