Location
I am just wondering why many members don't list a location in their profile? Could this be made to be a required field for registration? I don't know about the rest of you all but it is one of the first things that I look at. Usually a member will ask for help nearby but not have a location and then someone else will come along and have to ask where they are located.
Aloha,
ED

Thanked: 1587Privacy, mainly. At least, that would be my first guess. Anything to do with the internet is an exercise in balancing your personal information privacy with your socialising instincts IMO.
SRP is a public forum and you may be surprised at just how much information can be obtained about a person here by the simple expedient of searching their posts for informational nuggets, particularly if they have been here for a while. For example, a search of my posts would reveal to anyone who cared that I used to be a Parisian transvestite waitress called Jimbolina...
In the age of information it behoves us all to be aware of what we are putting out there onto this so-called information superhighway. Identity fraud is not a nice thing and social media sites and online forums can and do make the thieves lives a whole lot easier.
So anyway, that is my long-winded way of saying that I think some people are (justifiably) wary of giving out too much information online.

Okay then Ms. Jimbolina
Nobody said you had to put your real location which kind of defeats the purpose of a location though. A country, territory, state, or city would be helpful.Aloha,
