Gremlins in the gallery
When I tried to upload some pics of the re-grind that Joe did with my little TEW wedge, the only gallery I could access to modify was Vlad's Now, as fun as it would have been to change all comments to "made/restored by Ilija" I couldn't figure out how to modify my own. Before you jump on me for using Opera, I replicated the issue with the newest version of FF, so it's not the browser.

Ilija... now would I jump on you... just because... well, you know... (Opera) ..
The gallery issues were never resolved... see http://straightrazorpalace.com/showp...2&postcount=12
And I just haven't had the spare time to make sure installing different software wasn't going to create more problems than it solves. The gallery is currently reliable for viewing and downloading. It still locks up occasionally (as it always has... when that happens you need to contact David or me and we unlock it).
As the above thread indicates... if anyone needs edits, adds, or deletes I'll do them via the admin console (which fortunately still works, TG).
I had a replacement gallery program in mind but it turned out that it wouldn't integrate with the new stuff we added to enable a single registration/signon for both the forum and the main site (aka the "bridge"). Sharing registration/user info between all these packages is, BTW, the single biggest PITA to making progress. I have another candidate in mind, but it's so feature rich I haven't exactly figured out how to configure the damn thing so mere mortals (like me) can use it. Too many options is not always a good thing.

Opps sorry Joe. I must have missed that one. What I wanted to post wasn't an emergency so it can wait until the gremlins get eliminated. Looks like everything they come up with these days is suffering from toocuteitis. They want to sell you more features than their competition.

Thanked: 346Joe, while you're looking at gallery programs you know what'd be really sweet? FTP upload capability.
