What's up with the classifieds?
I've been away for a while and recently posted some ads in the classifieds. I've gotten around 15 emails now from people who say they want to buy a razor only to never get a response after the first email. At first I thought it was just a few, but it's been true 95% of the time. Is this kind of drive-by emailing something new you guys have noticed or was I just lucky in the past?

I've heard of it happening now and then, but was unaware it was particularly common.

Thanked: 247I had some issues with posting a reply to someone I was purchasing from before. I would suggest it's something like what Anthogia was talking about. The person never actually got your response maybe.

As far as I know emails are being sent correctly.
Basically if you have gotten an email about your ad, all is working correctly and the issue is not with the classifieds software. Any lack of further responses is due to either your buyers are not getting your response emails (that's between your email and them without any involvement of the classifieds software), or may be they have changed their mind and don't care about responding.
Now if a buyer has sent a contact email to the seller via the classifieds software I can check if that email went out and was accepted by the seller's email server, and if not what was the error. If there's an issue with that we'll fix it, but I need to know that it's an issue indeed. So if you fall into that category - simply contact me with the details (when did you send the email and to which seller) and I will investigate.

I'm sorry you got no response. That's weird, I try to email back within a day or two.
Thanks, Ivan. I should have phrased the question differently. I was trying to see if the feel of the classifieds had changed, since I never received so many "drive-by" emails in the past. Seems like it was just a little bad luck on my part.

Thanked: 270Is there a reason why you don't have a Buy It Now button? Occasionally two people buy it simultaneously and one person has to be reimbursed, but I think immediate feedback one way or another is superior to wondering of the seller or buyer got the message.
I know there have been a couple of occasions where the seller said they didn't get an email or private message I sent, and vice-versa, but sometimes stuff like that happens.
Let me say that I hope nobody takes offense if I ask a seller a question about an item, and then subsequently decide not to buy it.
