Chat room lurkers
Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way...but, if you're not going to chat, why hang out in the chat room? I would suggest that if you don't enter any text for 20 minutes, you are removed from the chat list. 20 minutes is plenty of time for you to surf the site and enter the occasional comment in the chat room. Happy shaves.

Thanked: 1371A lot of people use chat clients that stay logged in all the time.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

These are special programs which run on your computer and connects to the chat, instead of running inside your browser like you probably did when you chatted the other day. (If you clicked on the chat burron in the navigation tab, then yes, your chat program was part of your web browser, not a separate software on your computer).

So I can reply if I see something interesting whenever I'm able to check. If I stay logged in, I can also scroll back into chat to see whether anything interesting was discussed before I'd like to add to or learn from. If I was removed from the chat list I would not have access to that information
Not sure what would be gained by removing chatters from the chatroom anyway

I have an app on my tablet that just stays logged in. Whenever somebody posts in one of my favorite rooms or one I subscribed to, it notifies me so I can check in on what is happening. Works really slick, and it was free if I'm not mistaken.
