I think it's just the download of the photo timing out. Sometimes I get that too if the photos are large in filesize, or if there are several photos in a post/thread.
You can right-click the box where the photo is, and then click "show picture." You can also refresh the whole page, and that may get all the photos to appear.

No that did not work. The post in question is here, and I cannot see what the initial post images are, but I can see the image in post 4 OK.

Yes, John, I get the same thing- when I right-click on the first picture box and check properties, the address it's trying to link to is:
http://www.benrosenfield.com/feather-acj1.jpg
I wonder if it might be something with Ben's server?

Actually, in looking at it, thats a rather old (Sept - '06) post - Ben might have taken the picture down - the other pictures in the thread seem to link to pictures in the Gallery, so they show.
maybe........then again, maybe not......

Hi Lou,
Yes I think you are correct, I did not realise it was such an old post.

This is a good example of why it's not such a good idea to link to pictures from a server outside of SRP... once you do it you have to keep that picture there forever. It's way to easy to forget you linked to it and inadvertently delete it or move it to another folder, etc... hence, breaking the link to the post.
I do it too, sometimes... but usually only for graphics that are expendable to the meaning of the thread (eg, a special smiley, a cartoon, etc.).
But for important pics of topical stuff... razors, mugs, etc. I prefer to either "attach" the pictures or put them in the Gallery and then link to them... that way they're uploaded to SRP and I can forget about maintaining them from then on.
