Thread: How about a new section in the Equipment Section

How about one just for Kamisoris? They are not the same as a straight and there is a lot of information to search through in the straight section? Also how about a list of reputable brands, similar to the list of brands of straights. I am ordering my first one this week, and I have been through the archives of the Straight Razor section. Most of the useful information I've gotten was on another site, but I'd prefer to stay right here. My knowledge is limited, but I'd be happy to moderate for content if you needed the assistance.

I can see why you make this request! As we know, real Kami's are ground differently from side to side. Some I have seen are left-handed. I have avoided them for several reasons. However, they seem to have a good following. If nothing else, you could start a thread under razors or honing about them. It would be interesting to learn more about them.

There are plenty of fantastic, informative posts on Kamisoris and the honing of them. The problem is that they are spread out in the Straight Razor forum. Asking for a sub-forum would be to organize the information.

I would suggest that you start by collecting the SRP threads with the relevant information. Make a list and send it over to me or some other moderator and we would discuss and decide if they would be better separated in a subforum.
However, the best way to achieve what you want is to distill the information into an article in the Library on japanese razors.

Perhaps start a thread in Razors Clubs just for Kamisoris, but come to think of it there might be one allready.
